• Who is PHotoPHavors?
We are a photo booth rental company based out of Douglas, Michigan. From this location we can easily serve the greater West Michigan and Northern Indiana areas including the cities of Grand Rapids, Muskegon, Kalamazoo, South Bend, Holland, St. Joseph, Goshen, and surrounding cities. Photo booth rentals are our one and only business. There will be no distractions trying to provide DJ, photography, or other services at your event. We have the experience and the focus to ensure your photo booth rental is unique and exceeds your expectations. You will have our undivided attention from the moment you contact us through the time we finish servicing your event leaving behind many smiles and lasting memories. Your one and only wedding day or special event is not the time to find out you selected the wrong photo booth provider.

  • What's the attraction with a photo booth anyhow?
We've been trying to figure that out ourselves but we can tell you first hand that our photo booth has been the big hit at every event we've been to. Maybe it reminds us of our childhood when we piled into the photo booth at the fair or the mall with all our friends and created memories that last a lifetime. Blame California for starting the trend of having a photo booth at your wedding reception. There is absolutely no better way to get creative pictures of all of your wedding guests. Disposable cameras were a great idea but when you pick up your pictures days after the wedding, you find out every pose looks the same... boring... and your guests take home nothing. With our photo booth your guests will take home the ultimate party favor. That's why our photo booth is also perfect for your corporate event or trade show. You won't find an easier way to get a high percentage of the visitors to your event lined up to take home their photo complete with your promotional message and company information, plus there's a good chance it will end up on their refrigerator and not in the trash.

  • Will my guests have to argue over who gets to keep the photo strip?
With our new "One-For-All" feature, each person in the picture gets a photo strip to keep. Our high-speed printing and automatic cutting technology make this possible. Beware of others offering a similar feature with printers that take 30 seconds or more to print one strip, or the photo strips have to be manually cut in half or laminated to keep them from smudging. When renting by the hour, do you really want a photo booth that cannot keep up?

  • How much photo booth time do I need?
The three hours we include in our base package should be enough for events up to 150 guests or more. Often couples or families will only have their picture taken once as a group. Additional hours can be added to your package if desired for only $150 per hour. Keep in mind we also include up to one hour of idle time in all our packages (see next question).

  • Can we close the photo booth during dinner, etc?
From our experience we understand that there may be periods where you want the photo booth closed so your guests can concentrate on dinner or other festivities, like the cake cutting. This has become a common enough request that we now include up to one hour of idle time at no charge for you to close the photo booth during your event as desired (this is in addition to the base three hours of photo booth time). Our goal is to make your special day more special, not to nickel and dime you for every little feature or extra second. While closed, the outside display on our photo booth will continue to display any pictures already taken at your event along with a subtle reminder that the photo booth is closed. If needed, additional idle hours can be added to your package for $75 per hour. Just let us know the schedule for your event and when you would like the photo booth open and closed.

  • Why is your photo booth rental more expensive than others we've looked at?
Granted we may be more expensive than some providers you'll find and you can find others that charge more than we do. When we entered the market the going price for a photo booth rental was $1,500 for far less features than what we offer. Our focus has been to provide a high-end experience at an affordable price. Our past clients have consistently given us excellent reviews and high praise. In fact we were the only photo booth provider in Michigan to receive the Wedding Wire Bride's Choice Award in 2010. And while most of our clients are renting a booth for their once in a life time event and don't get an opportunity to compare us to other providers, we routinely receive compliments from DJ's, photographers, and venue managers stating that our booth and service is the best they have ever seen. These are accolades we are very proud of and strive to live up to or surpass at every event we service.

Besides our service and reputation, we have other advantages that set us apart from the lower-cost startup providers. We are a business with full liability insurance, not a hobby or a quick-income addition to another service. All our equipment is professional grade, was purchased brand new and has been properly maintained since day one. You won't find low-resolution webcams or obsolete consumer grade point-and-shoot cameras scavenged from eBay in our booth. Most providers opt for lighter weight printers that while easier to transport, cannot match the throughput and quality of our printer.

  • How does your photo booth compare to others?
We did a lot of research before selecting our equipment. The quality of the final printed photo was top on our list so we started with a high-resolution digital camera, not a webcam or a low-resolution video camera and video capture card like those used in less sophisticated photo booths. Next we selected a lab-quality dye-sublimation digital photo printer, not a slow ink-jet or consumer-grade photo printer that require periodic refilling and produce grainy prints that smudge. Then we looked at the photo booth experience itself. With most other booths you must choose ahead of time whether you want all of your photos to be either color or black and white. The user has no choices and simply pushes one button to start the sequence. We wanted the process to be fun and interactive so our booth uses a touch screen. Users get to select whether they want color, black and white, or sepia tone photos. They can zoom the camera in or out and tilt it up or down to get their pictures framed just the way they want them. These features alone make a huge difference with small children who wouldn't even be in the frame with other fixed-camera stand-up photo booths.

  • What does the lab-quality dye-whatever printer thing mean to me?
First, it means your photos will be ready in about 10 seconds. You paid for unlimited pictures so why have your guests stacked up waiting for photos that take up to a minute or more to print. Second, it means there is no ink to dry so your pictures can be handled immediately, won't smudge or fade, or get ink on your wedding dress, rented tux, or formal wear. Third, the lab-quality part means the pictures will look as good or better than the pictures you order from your favorite professional digital photo developer.

  • Will you host the pictures from my event online?
We considered offering online event photo hosting but decided against it at this time. We weren't comfortable with the idea that just because your guests used our photo booth at your private event, that we had implied permission to post their pictures on the public Internet, especially minors. All of our packages do include a burned CD with all the pictures taken that we give to you at the end of the event. The pictures do not carry a copyright so you are free to upload them to your favorite photo sharing website as long as your guests are cool with that. Most photo sites will give your friends and family the option to order inexpensive reprints as well. Something doesn't seem right with a company when you've paid hundreds (or thousands) of dollars for their service and then they make you pay for a CD or force your guests to go to their website for obnoxiously priced reprints (last time I checked, a CD-R cost about 25 cents and you could order prints through Walmart for 9 cents). But please contact us if online photo hosting is a make-it or break-it feature and we will work with you to find a hosting option that meets the privacy concerns of you and your guests.

  • What do the professional attendants do?
Our professional attendants are there to make sure your photo booth experience goes smoothly. They will assist your guests if needed and help with any questions. They can also help with your memory book if you decide to have one (you can supply your own memory book or album, you don't have to buy ours). As a locally owned business, your satisfaction is our number one priority. We promise to do everything possible to meet or exceed your expectations. You don't have to worry that the guy who shows up was hired off a posting on craigslist and has never seen a photo booth before (do some searching and you'll find horror stories like these from people who went with the national photo booth rental services).

  • How does your optional ticketing system help?
Our photo booth will be a big enough hit at your event that there may be a line. Our exclusive optional ticketing system reminds each guest or group that everyone should have an equal opportunity to make their own special memories. We provide plenty of tickets for all your guests (plus extras for you) that can be set at each place setting or handed out as your guests arrive at you event. This is a perfect way to let your guests know that you have stepped up the fun with a photo booth at your event and get them thinking about what creative poses they can come up with.
